Your audio never leaves your device

AudiobookLoader has no server. Your audio files are uploaded directly from your browser to Yoto's servers using a signed URL that Yoto provides. We never receive, store, or process your audio.

Yoto OAuth tokens

When you connect your Yoto account, we receive a short-lived access token and a refresh token. The access token lives only in browser memory and is cleared when you close the tab. The refresh token is stored in sessionStorage so your session survives a page reload in the same tab, but is automatically cleared when the tab is closed. Neither token is sent to any server other than Yoto's.

Local storage

We use localStorage only to remember your Kid Mode preference and your upload count (used to decide when to show the Ko-fi support link). This data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate-only analytics (no cookies, no fingerprinting, no PII). We can see aggregate page view counts to understand whether the tool is being used. We cannot see who you are, what files you uploaded, or link any event to an individual.

Third-party services

The silence-split feature loads ffmpeg.wasm from unpkg.com. The Internet Archive search calls the Internet Archive's public JSON API. Neither service receives any audio or personal data.
